The Mystery of Desperate Housewives' Plot

Here's what I think is going on....

I reckon that the Dana-baby-murder is a red herring...and that Dana grew up into the girl we saw in the photograph this episode. She was adopted for some reason (possibly because she was illigitimate?? or possibly because something bloody and nasty DID happen the night that Zach remembers?-maybe it wasn't Dana's blood he saw??) anyway- she was adopted by the guy we were introduced to this episode who's obviously her father-figure and then as an adult was in a relationship with Mike. Then she got murdered, presumably by her biological parents Mary-Alice and/or Paul , possibly for carrying a dark family secret(?). So her 'father' and Mike sought vengence by killing Mary-Alice. Which would make Mary-Alice's suicide actually a murder. Oh hang on, i think we know that she definately DID commit suicide because her ghostly voiceover told us. Bum. But we now know that Mike has already killed out of vengence for the murder of the girl in the photograph who may or may not be Dana... So if not Mary-Alice, who on EARTH has Mike already killed??

Yeah OK - speculation gets you nowhere...
Clearly I should just find the patience to wait til next week...

Hallo Katie John's Blogspot!
Thank you for that update. However, I missed the very first episode and so it appears have now missed the pivotal moments and so yesterday, as the credits rolled, went 'Meh?!'
I understand that there was a body buried under a swimming pool that was then moved to a lake? And we don't know who was doing the digging and/or murdering? Is this right? And that they were adult remains, yes Rach (hello, nice to meet you, by the way!)? And when did we find out that beautiful plumber man murdered someone else? Was that in the unquestionably crucial premier episode?! Help please guardian of cult American TV shows!

One of my housemates suggested that Dana was some kind of nanny or soemthing for Zach. I'm still trying to work out whether that fits into the timeline of things... all a little confuddling!

I am NOT gonna get to the stage where I'm writing things down, I am NOT.....

You all make good points.
Rachel's right- the adult bones in the toybox are still unaccounted for- they're probably the bones of whoever it is that Mike's already knocked off, because one episode ended with voiceover talking about a sinister secret whilst we saw shots of mike's wall covered in stalker-shots of everyone in the neighbourhood and the toybox being found in the lake, so the 2 things are probably connected.
(Alan: they told us Mike had "already killed once" for mystery-photo-girl this week alan honey).
And liz, your housemates' suggestion is interesting BUT Dana's name was embroidered on what looked like a blood-stained baby blanket earlier in the series-so I say she defo was their baby but i reckon the blood is a red herring- i don't think she's dead.
